Advanced Certificate Course in Biodynamic Massage

Application Form

This includes all Biodynamic Massage and Biodynamic theory tuition, group
supervision and 4 individual supervisions for the 10 sessions
Massage case study, student handbook and teaching materials.


Extra costs:

• Assessment fee for the Advanced Certificate in Biodynamic Massage
(optional) - £200.  There are 2 assessments possibilities: 

a)  assessment just for the Advanced Certificate for those who
already have the basic certificate (see details in
handbook)
b) assessment for both the Basic and the Advanced Certificate,
this is called the LSBP Certificate of Competence in Biodynamic Massage and is
what Diploma course students in previous years have had. It will specify what
you have covered. (see details below).
Assessments costs are the same, i.e.
£200. 
• 15 Biodynamic psychotherapy sessions with emphasis on
Biodynamic Massage by a qualified practitioner
• Professional
insurance
• ‘Outside’ individual or group supervision when working in
the Student clinic or in private practice

Course content

You will learn 3 more Biodynamic Massages and will get a deeper understanding
of the cumulative effect of on-going Biodynamic Massage.
You will learn Basic
therapeutic listening skills and skills in helping your client speak from
feeling and embodiment and to help the flow of talking (‘Rooted talking’ and
‘Stepping stones’)

 

Assignments

Case study of 10 Biodynamic Massage sessions

For you to deepen your understanding of the cumulative effect of biodynamic
massage, we want you to give a sequence of 10 sessions to a different client,
with whom you don’t have any personal or professional connections. These
sessions should ideally be given weekly, and must not be spread over more than
15 weeks. You will receive individual supervision from a trainer for these
massage sessions. You can start with this case study straight after the first
workshop.

 

Written assignments

Case study based on sequence of 10 massage sessions (4,000 – 5,000
words)
Essay – comparing two forms of Biodynamic Massage: their purpose and
techniques, and your own experience of giving and receiving each form. How did
each massage affect your client? How did they affect you? (1,500 words)

 

Assessment for the Advanced Certificate in Biodynamic Massage
(Optional)
For those who have already received their Basic Certificate in
Biodynamic Massage, or equivalent from other Biodynamic Massage trainings.


Requirements for the assessment

• Satisfactory Completion of the Advanced Certificate Course in
Biodynamic Massage. This includes satisfactory completion of written
assignments, 10 sessions case study and essay on comparison of 2 Biodynamic
massages
• Notes on 20 Biodynamic massage sessions given to colleagues,
or clients outside the workshops (including the work for the case
study).
• 15 massage sessions received outside the workshops from
student’s own psycho/massage therapist. These should be listed, with dates, and
signatures from the person who has given the sessions.
• Case study: One of 10 sessions given to same client within 15 weeks. For work with the case study client, a total of at least 4 hours individual supervision.
All the papers should be submitted one full month before the Assessment date.

Assessment for both the Basic and the Advanced Certificate in Biodynamic Massage – LSBP Certificate of Competence in Biodynamic Massage (Optional)

For those who, after the Basic Certificate course, continue their training in the Advanced Certificate course in Biodynamic Massage, there is the option of doing one final assessment at the end of the Advanced Certificate course. The two Biodynamic Massage courses can count as Year I of the LSBP Diploma Course in Biodynamic Psychotherapy.

You will be assessed for the LSBP Certificate of Competence in Biodynamic Massage.
 The certificate will show the hours of tuition and practice.

For this assessment we require

·         Satisfactory Completion of the Basic and Advanced Certificate Course in Biodynamic Massage. This includes satisfactory completion of all written assignments.

·         Two case studies of 6 and 10 consecutive sessions.

For your work with these two people, you should have received a total of at least 7 hours individual supervision  (3 for the 6 sessions case study and 4 for the 10 sessions case study)

·         Notes on 40 biodynamic massage sessions you have given to colleagues, friends or clients outside the workshops (including the work for your case studies).

·         You should yourself have received at least 35 (massage) sessions outside the workshops from your own therapist.  These should be listed, with dates, and signatures from the person giving you the massage.

Assessment Cost £200

The structure and criteria of the Certificate of Competence in Biodynamic Massage assessment will be the same as for the Advanced Certificate in Biodynamic Massage.
