The LSBP Clinic for Biodynamic Massage
& Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy

The clinic offers an opportunity for the general public to experience biodynamic massage and/or biodynamic body psychotherapy - at a reduced fee.

Biodynamic work can help you to cope with the impact of stress on your physical and emotional well-being.  The work may offer relief from pain and tensions, as well as reconnecting you with your resilience and your natural vitality.

We can see you for a trial session, after which we can arrange a short course of sessions and discuss the possibility of longer term therapy, according to your individual needs and wishes.

BIODYNAMIC MASSAGE

This massage is uniquely responsive to each person's needs and body type –   touching the whole person, body, feelings, mind and spirit.  In our work we have a wide range of methods and techniques to respond sensitively to each individual's needs, and to support a process of deepening relaxation.

Biodynamic massage is designed to help us literally digest our stress and tensions - as every thought and feeling in our minds is also a process in the muscles and tissues.  Listening through a stethoscope to the sounds in your belly, we use the information as a form of bio-feedback, telling us from moment to moment how your whole being is responding.

We don't use oils in biodynamic massage, which means we can work though clothes if you prefer to remain dressed, although other clients prefer the massage on the skin and so undress to their underwear.

Clients experience the massage as offering support, as well as restoring well-being and vitality and alleviating symptoms of a wide range of chronic diseases.  As a client has commented:  “I find the biodynamic massage immensely relaxing and invigorating.  It brings me back to feeling at home in my body.”

Biodynamic massage is often used within biodynamic psychotherapy to open up the richness of our inner world.  It can also be enjoyed by people not in psychotherapy.

BIODYNAMIC BODY PSYCHOTHERAPY

In its approach to working with the body as well as working with talking, biodynamic psychotherapy can offer an opportunity to discover a deeper connection with ourselves.

Challenges such as exhaustion, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, feelings of isolation, and general relationship difficulties can be explored through reflection as well as working with the muscles and tissues.

We include the body in various ways:  for instance, we may use direct touch, such as in massage; or we may invite you to explore the feelings and sensations in your body, such as through paying attention to your breathing and posture. Or we may work with movement and expression. This unique way of working can help you to come in touch with your inmost strengths as well as to work through past and current hurtful experiences.

In this process we learn to listen to our inner voice, to feel more fully alive and to be more true to ourselves, in all our complexity and beauty.

PRACTICALITIES OF THE CLINIC:

After an initial session we will explore how you may want to proceed. We can offer a first course of sessions (e.g. 6, 8 or 10 weeks) during which you would always see the same therapist.  Towards the end of the course we discuss if and in which way you may want to continue.  Sometimes people start off with biodynamic massage, but after a while they decide to deepen the work into biodynamic body psychotherapy.  We will explore the options with you to find the most suitable way forward for you at that time.
